To support Learning and Development and HR Leads, this training course has been designed to be part of employee engagement and induction L&D programmes. The breadth of topics provides employees across functions and levels of seniority to take a step back and consider the role they play in supporting organisational objectives aligned with sustainability strategy and agenda.
The course enables participants to build critical skills and knowledge. Considering the 'science' (touching on Carbon Literacy), and the broader landscape, bringing team members up to speed with some of the key issues impacting businesses right now - and, equipping them with ideas, challenges and insights to support both their own career development and ongoing learning so that they can become confident in becoming part of the wider solution, whilst supporting the over-arching sustainability focus of the organisation.

Sustainability Skill Building Training Course - 3 hours / 4 Modules
Designed to support L&D, HR and talent leads with a viable training and development programme to support induction and employee engagement aligned with the sustainability transition.
Sustainability has fast become a leading agenda topic within boardrooms. Organisations which have either developed or are developing sustainability strategy and agendas require their team members to be on board - educated and aware, to support with engaging them to understand the direction and where relevant, mobilise progress.
This programme has been developed to equip participants with a well-rounded understanding of why sustainability matters, the role business plays, and empowering team members with education and awareness so that they can develop their own understanding of how they utilise their role, skills and talent to support organisational requirements and wider solutions.

Championing sustainable marketing and leadership, Gemma is the co-host of the podcast series, Can Marketing Save the Planet? She is a 2x published author, Carbon Literate and was awarded ‘Outstanding Contribution to Marketing’ in 2022 for driving sustainable marketing transformation. Former Marketing Director at the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Gemma develops qualifications and training focused on educating marketers and business across the world on their role in driving a more sustainable future.
Michelle Carvill, Author, Co-Founder / Director, Can Marketing Save The Planet Ltd
A strategic marketer and Sustainable Marketing consultant. Co-Founder and Podcast Host at Can Marketing Save the Planet Ltd, a company on a mission to support responsible marketing through educating and supporting the approximate 10.6M Marketers on the planet. Carbon Literate, awarded ‘Outstanding Contribution to Marketing’ in 2022 for driving sustainable marketing transformation and 6x published author. Michelle was recognised as one of the UK’s Top 100 Inspirational Businesswomen in 2021. Prior to her focus on sustainability, Michelle worked providing strategic consulting and delivering communications and engagement projects aligned with digital transformation programmes.
Licences to access the courses are on a twelve month basis. Course content is reviewed and where relevant, updated on a quarterly basis.
All courses are SCORM 1.2 compatible.
The course can be accessed via the Can Marketing Save the Planet learning portal, or embedded within organisational LMS / L&D systems.
